Many people have been told, “You need to blog!” And I agree, if you are looking to promote a business or just share an opinion, it’s the most effective way to do so with total control of your message. Now, with that said, just because you blog doesn’t mean the world will want to read it, if the quality is not there, you’re off message or not marketing it effectively.
It’s amazing what a little innovation, with what may have not seemed like much at the time, can become a revolution that changed the world. Who would’ve thought the ability to send a 140-character messages, online mind you (where you can already send a full thought via e-mail to a group) would catch on. But it did!
Bitdefender, a leading provider of security software for computers, conducted a study in social media to see how easy it was to compromise one’s account. What does this study show? We can learn two things: a) one should not trust anyone they do not personally know online and b) why social media marketing is such a powerful tool.
While most people are very wise about their privacy, teenagers seem to think that they live in a force field that will prevent nothing bad from happening to them. It’s always the OTHER person who gets
caught, gets sick, gets addicted, gets pregnant, etc. While that is enough of an issue to deal in itself, they take this same carefree attitude when it comes to posting their crazy whims online. What may be popular to a small circle of friends and every like-minded kook who combs through social-media profiles, looking for something juicy to gossip about, will not be so popular when you’re out of high school and starting a real life.
This article was difficult to write, because I had to think of what would help the average user NOT interested in becoming a guru? So this is NOT an end-all be-all article, but rather some things that are sometimes overlooked to make it a more enjoyable experience.
